Part 1 – The anatomy of a glacier – In this segment, Josh flies high above the land helping Emma in Mission Control to decode the anatomy of glaciers. Using a blend of aerial observations of what the glaciers did to the landscape and some very cool science, they explore how and why glaciers form. They reveal how alpine and continental glaciers build from snow and ice, and how these massive flows of glacial ice shape the land. In fact, Josh, flying over the forest spots some of the interesting glacial features from the air then decides to find out firsthand how they look during a trail trek.
